#MarryMeWaco: Keedra and David

Exercise turned to romance as he literally chased after her heart....

How They Met...

David and I met when we started working together at Bear Nutrition in Waco. We had attended the same church (UBC) and we're going on the same mission trip, so we knew of each other for a few before we were actually introduced.

How He Asked...

We were friends for a long time before we started dating. While we were friends, we would run together on the Brazos River. When we were finished running we would sit next to each other on the grass over looking the river and new Baylor football stadium and talk for hours. This is where we got to know each other and where we both developed feelings for each other. We both admit we never looked forward to the running, but did it so we could sit and talk at the end. After we started dating, this continued to be a special spot for us. We would go on walks, talk about our hopes for the future, and our relationships with Christ.

About a year ago on a Friday, David told me he wanted to go on a date after I got out of class. He picked me up and walked me to our spot. At this point I still thought it was an ordinary date, until I heard a song coming from a speaker that he had written about me during the time we were just friends– but he wanted to be more than friends. That's when I knew he was about to propose. Everything after that realization is a blur of joy. I remember David saying sweet words and getting down on one knee, and of corse saying yes. That day was by far the best surprise of my life!
